By accessing or using Genesis ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.
2. Description of Service
Genesis is an AI-powered study productivity platform providing tools including but not limited to: Understanding Checker, YouTube Summary, Flashcard Generator, Quiz Generator, Assessment Decoder, Study Path Generator, and Reference Generator. The Service is designed to help students understand academic material more effectively.
3. Academic Integrity
Genesis tools are designed to help you understand and prepare — not to complete assessments on your behalf. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of AI-generated content complies with your institution's academic integrity policies. Submitting AI-generated content as your own original work may constitute academic misconduct. Genesis accepts no responsibility for any academic consequences arising from misuse of the platform.
4. User Accounts
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service; (c) upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates any third-party rights; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk; (e) use the Service to generate content intended to deceive, mislead, or harm others; (f) share your account credentials with others.
6. Paid Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. Free trials are available on eligible plans — you will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid charges. Refunds are not available for partial subscription periods unless required by applicable law. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.
7. AI-Generated Content
Content generated by Genesis's AI tools is provided for educational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content for any purpose. You should always verify important information from authoritative sources. AI outputs may contain errors, outdated information, or hallucinations. You use AI-generated content at your own risk.
8. Intellectual Property
Genesis and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Genesis and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Content you create using the Service (your notes, flashcards, etc.) remains yours. You grant Genesis a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Genesis shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Australia, unless you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory local consumer protection laws.
